ALEX - YOUR NEW BRUSH - A QUESTION
« on: February 20, 2008, 09:55:12 pm »
Ok, well I should have hot water by next winter so.......your new brush....has it been tested for hot water or will there be a hot model or will it be possible to easily redesign the brush for hot water? Luke

Just scared that with hot water it would be too soft or splay too much, Luke

Brushes that at the moment you think are useless will be reborn with hot water.

Hi Luke

We haven't specifically tested the brush for hot water. However, the bristle structure is such that it should still work just as efficiently when heated up.  We are very close to having the brush available for retail sales, just tying down a few last details.

Alex, in the beginning you said your brush would be Dual trim, previous posts seem to suggest that it's just single, and dual trim optional or later. What brush will we be seeing soon? The Dual trim or single?

Thanks. :)

Hi GQC

Originally we were going to bring out a dual trim version first but in testing and talking to clients we realised that a single trim version would be more useful and be wanted by more people.  We will be looking at bringing out a dual trim version, a large version and a sill version of the brush in the months after it's release.

Sounds great. Sorry for being out of the loop a bit, but what positive points will this brush have?

How is your testing with prototypes gone? Are you happy with the lightness, and the splaying of the brush? The Cleaning power? How tightly are the bristles packed? etc.

Thanks.

Morning GQC

We've been working with this brush now for about six months and it is by far my favourite brush.  Am I happy with the lightness? No. I would like it to be half the weight! but seriously the weight is fine, it's about 240gm which is a little bit heavier than a Bentley but as the bristles will last about 10 times longer, I think it's an acceptable trade-off.  For my taste, the splaying of the bristles is very good offering good corner coverage.  I'm going to include a picture of the bristle density on one of my prototypes. On the finished brush the bristles are in black with a black stock.
