I need some more vac hose for a job I've got booked in for next friday,just wondering is it worth the extra expence and messing about getting the fitting fitted in the soil tank so it would take 2 1/2 inch hose , The truck mount I'm using is a pro mount 20

Go for the 2.5" pipes. You will be surprised at the increased vac this produces.  Once set up you won't look back

Do you connect the 2.5 " hoses to your 2" hoses or just run them straight to the vac port.If they are connected which end are they best utilised at the machine end or the end connecting to your wand?
I use a Hydramaster true Y which splits the vac hose from 2 to 1 Would you advise buying 2 X 25 ft 2.5 " and running them from the machine or 1 X 50 ft and running it to the connector.

I noticed a BIG difference going fro 1.5" to 2" on my Scorpion portable so you TM guys should notice a difference going from 2" to 2.5".

I think so long as you run the largest into the waste tank and gradually reduce down to single 2", it will improve airflow. Mine (as of Monday) will be,  3.5" from waste tank to vac box then 2 x 2" down to single 2"

As an alternative to Dave's 4 to the door, get a 2.5" universal Y from Hydramaster. Run 2   2" pipes from your ports to the Y out side your van & then run 2.5" all the way reducing to 2" (using cool cuff reducing barb) to your last 25'. Saves having to run 2 pipes all the way to the front door.
If you want to spend more, change your tank ports from 2" to 2.5" ports.  You can get these from Greenglides.

You won't be gettin' it from me, but HM does have a whole selection of 2.5" hardware to convert any machine.

Since your TM has a 2.5" ported Blower you would definitely benfit from continuing that 2.5" pipe as far down the line to your wand as possible...56% more is 56% more no matter how you view it.

If you only need two lengths of pipe for domestic jobs then make one of them 2.5", if you routinely pull out three lengths, then make 2 of them the larger, you absolutley will be amazed at teh additional recovery and dry times, it's why I promote it so heavily.

Then set your vacuum releif valve to 15"hg or the maximum your Blower Mfg. supports, and make sure the revs are up around maximum for the engine and pump.

In the end I went for the set up that Elliots Clng has mentioned. From the vac/filter box 2 x 6ft runs of 2" to a 2.5" Y splitter,attached to a single 25ft x 2.5" run which is then atached to the 2" hose run to the wand.

i have just gone down the 2.5" hose route i also run 2 short lenghs of 2" hose to a y then 50ft of 2.5" hose then 2" to the wand i've done away with the inline filter the difference in vac is amazing well wort the investment imo

I dont use my inline filter anymore, as I have a vac/filter box on the machine, this has a box type filter inside, which has less reststance than the inline type.

If you must use an external filter, teh quickest and easiest is the modified one below, It would take an advanced order but HydraMaster could bring a  few in.
