I found it cold this morning and didnt start anywhere near as early as you Matt.

It as one of those days where there was a lot of moisture about although it wasnt raining, condensing water dripping off all the trees.

Been WFP nearly 3 weeks now and found it the coldest day so far despite all the frosts we've had, everything seemed to be wet even though we'd had no rain; pole, hose, reel, brain.......

I gotta get me some gloves  ;D

Matt.  I totally agree with your philosophy of life.  The only reason I've had to become more money orientated is because I made mistakes in my life and unfortunately that means debts.  Time is the most precious thing of all.  I feel better about myself by honouring those debts than I would by giving up and going the IVA or bankruptcy route.  I surely would have gone down that route were it not for WFP.  WFP is getting me out of what was a very big hole.  It's still a hole but it's nowhere near as deep these days.
It feels a great pity that I know how I would like to live my life but feel prevented from doing so by my past errors of judgement.  Fortunately, I've learned that there can be happiness even in adversity.

BTW.  You're not really a wimp   ;D

Matt, if you were to work harder i'm sure you wouldn't feel the cold half as much! Not too bad down my way today but the roads seemed really greasy and slippery. Picked up a couple in a village a few miles away, seem to have hit a hot spot at last. Well that was untill i fought my way through a traffic jam got there and realised why nobody else wants the job - old council estate in terraces of three, crap parking, crap access with a locked door to the passageway with customer pretending not to have enough money to pay - waste of a journey. Should have had a sausage sarnie instead. :'(

Yea, thats appropriate.

By the way Shiner.......   I up until a couple of years ago had mountains of debt (through, shall we say errors of judgement) I never once contemplated bankruptcy or the like, I buckled down and paid it off gradually, agreeing monthly terms with those I owed it to. They didnt like it being as slow as it was, they'd harrass and cajole to try to make you increase your level of payments (I'd stick my ground and say 'cant afford that, you can have £x per month but you cannot have what you want per month, take it or leave it' they ALWAYS take it) had the local County Court Baliff round, we eventually got onto first name terms and we'd sit down with a coffee and have a natter, not about money, but about life (he'd had his fair share of bad luck too you know). He was really a nice amiable guy, he knew from me he'd get what was expected, but he also knew turning up with a van, a couple of heavies, a copper and a locksmith was pointless (I dont have any Rembrandts on display).

But once those debts were gone, they wuz goorn, and I now know my limitations, I dont have store cards/credit cards/guarantee cards, I dont want them, my discipline regarding money is 'I dont do credit, full-stop' and that way I have no need to return to being in debt again.

fair play to you Shiner, you work to pay your way, thats good enough ;)

i came home from austrailia in 93 and was in a fair emount of debt to credit cards

i had a well paid job in sydney, i lived in a house that had a fair few shareing and my rent per fortnight was what i earnt in 2 and a bit hours work, i didnt really understand the " backpackers lifestyle, it consisted of, working
eating a packet of supernoodles a day and tha was it "  :( it was living a poor life in a different city / town / country, what was the point

Now me on the other hand, i lived like a king

out on the beer every night, i did my PADI scuba diver to instructor level, i ate out every night ( chinese, lebanese, thai etc etc ) i would often phone my boss from the bar at 7 in the morning and say " pick me up at this bar " then go off to do a days work, then get home, shower and back on it, it didnt come cheap, i ran up a massive debt at the time ( these days its small fry )

i got home and didnt go out with the lads for allmost 1 year ( apart from the week i got home, the lads threw a bit of a party for me , it was very hard, as i liked my nights out ) , i knuckled down and worked and paid if off, it was tough, the interest was 1 weeks pay per month :( but it soon came down

now i will not owe the CC any more than what i have in myt biz account or whats owed to me from commercail jobs
