How many of you are doing this? I'm talking about ground floor and 1st floor. Do you rinse with the brush off on first cleans, or brush on?

Just a little inquiry from a trad guy in the process of switching over.

On he first clean i rinse the tops half on half off and the bottoms i rinse off,from then on i rinse on the glass upstairs and half on downstairs.

i usually reduce the flow by having the flow valve in my hand and almost closed to brush , then bring brush away from window and turn flow to full to rinse, unless you use a brush with an overhead fan spray, then you can keep the brush on all the time.

Can anyone who rinses brush off, convince me, (I rinse brush on), why it's better rinsing brush off. What's the point, are there any benefits, is it quicker, does your brush last longer?

I find it quicker to rinse with the brush on. However, the danger I find in rinsing with brush on is that  when you clean a new job the extra dirt can stay in the bristles for a while and rinsing with brush on the glass can contaminate the next couple of cleans. So yes, do it if you feel confident that you won't forget to rinse off the the glass for a couple of houses following a new clean.

It doesn't take a lot of dirt in the bristles to mess up a job.

cannot believe you can rinse as good with brush on , but because of all you reputable people saying so i am going to try it on my own windows this weekend and let you all know . these have been done wfp for over 12 months now . is your flow higher when on the glass to do this.

As we're not around when the windows dry, from time to time I spot check with the odd customer that the windows are comming up fine and I always make them feel comfortable with making a genuine complaint if necassary. It never fails to suprise me though how many don't check and are happy to just see you regularly or know you've been. Others though are quite finnicky and can be a good guide as to how well the system and your preferred method is working. If rinsing brush on doesn't work for them I don't do it.
I've lost a total of four customers through switchng to wfp (top only for the most part as I still enjoy working with a blade). Those I lost were predjusticed against it from the start.
However, I've gained a lot more new work since going WFP, some of which is as a direct result from making the switch.
