The Gutter Spike
« on: February 16, 2008, 05:07:58 pm »
A really useful bit of kit in my opinion is the Gutter spike. It is used when the material within the gutter is too dense or to large to be either vacuumed or flushed with a high pressure jet.

They are not expensive to buy. (Only supplier I know is Omnipole) and believe me they are worth their weight in gold. If you have a quick connect gutter bend (walking stick) gutter cleaning attachment then this tool will fit (either Omnipoles power pole or Northern tools fiberglass telescopic lance version).

The pole and set up  in the pictures is Omnipoles own powerpole.

is this just a spike?

not sure how good it willl be using a wobbly telescopic lance on something like mud or soil. I have had a coupleof jobs where grass was growing and their was 2 inches of solid soil in the gutters. Would it work on this type of job?

The power pole is far from wobbly its really solid. Its made from aluminum so its both rigid and strong. The cheap northern tools fiberglass job is a different story though which is why I have a power pole.
