Thanks for the tip off Dave.  What a cheek!  Looks like I'll be contacting eBay ASAP.

Ebay deal with picture theft very quickly and efficiently, we have had alot of trouble in the past with this, and quite a few other members were removed for stealing our pictures, Luke
Ffenest ( est 2007 ) is a fully insured premium quality window cleaning service based at Llandderfel near Bala. All our work is guaranteed, rain or shine, year round.

Alex
Have you now given them permision to use your photographs?
Thats what the listing more or less says now.
If you did, I would say you have not done yourself any favours, as you cannot tell what they will supply and their customer will expect the quality shown in your photographs, this will in turn devalue your own products.

I have had simular issues and unless its a customer selling equipment originally manufactured by us I will not give permision as we would be held responsable for inferior products supplied.
This is piracy and theft of your intelectual property.
I see they are also showing a pure freedom RO unit

We have been in communication with the seller. Unfortunately he cannot remove the main pictures once they have been listed. We have therefore allowed him to keep them up there for just this one advert, with the addition:

PLEASE NOTE, PICTURES USED WITH RETROSPECTIVE PERMISSION COURTESY OF GARDINER POLE SYSTEMS. HOWEVER, THIS LISTING IS IN NO WAY ENDORSED OR IS IN ANY WAY AFFILIATED WITH GARDINER POLE SYSTEMS.

The seller has apologised and requested that if possible the item can continue, which I did agree to. We have had this before on eBay, with members of this forum using our website pictures. We also have had at least two of our competitors websites using various pictures of ours without permission.

Having had to employ the services of a lawyer recently to defend our Intellectual Property Rights (successfully) in another case, I agree that you do have to take this sort of thing seriously.

Hi Alex
Pictures can be changed, but maybe the seller would maybe need to restart the auction as bids have been made, but thats their problem and hopfully they would learn a cheap lesson.

Good point Glyn.  If the seller had refused to add the disclaimer I was about to involve eBay's VeRO programme and his listing would have been removed and account closed.  As he acknowledged his breach of copyright, I allowed the listing to continue.  Ironically I recognized his name as a former customer!
