A bit of a laugh is one thing,.. but as the poll shows 21 ppl think its ok, to FIFTY SEVEN saying its going downhill!!!

That's nearly a 2 to 1 ratio!

At least none of the trouble makers have signed up for my forum,... yet!

I REALLY DONT KNOW WHERE I STAND ANY MORE , when i joined this forum some time ago , it was the most amazing thing , it helped me out no end , if i needed an answer , i posted and got it within an hour , but it has gone downhill a bit , dont get me wrong , i love a bit of banter , cant beat it .
But its all gone too serious lately , i got this , i got that , i earn more than you , its time we all stepped back and went back to the way it was before .
For instance , Steve K , not a friend of mine , but in my eyes one of the most valuable members this forum ever had , he  was hounded for some reason and he left the site , thats when i noticed a decline , he i think came back for a while but left again shortly after , is this what the site is about now , taking the P out of anybody who doesnt share your view ?

Come on guys , please let it go back to how it was , friendly , helpful , and a pleasure to log on each night , or we may all find ourselves with no mods and no sponsor for the site , its only a matter of time until the powers that be say enough is enough , i dont need this anymore ......

the thing i miss most about working for myself is the "banter" you get in factories ,on building sites ,probly in offices too (never worked in one so i dont know) this forum helps me in two ways :firstly it helps when i need advice or have a problem that is technical in nature ,only this evening i have had some good answers to a question i posted and i have enjoyed using my limited knowledge to help anyone i can ;D :secondly it provides the "banter " that i miss. Many window cleaners work alone and this site helps to release the pressures of the average working day.It can be a lonely job sometimes :( and its nice to get on here and have a bit of a laugh and even(within reason) a bit of a fight.Anyway instead of restricting /deleting/moving posts perhaps the categories need revising ??? have a technical/advice section and a more "political" section for more loosely related WINDOW CLEANING RELATED issues (NOT THE GENERAL CHAT BIT) where the diy cobblers and the .....pros?...motivated   whatever can have a bit of a ding dong. Also does a "Gudeline " page appear when people register? it could detail forum ettiquette (I for instance did not realise swearing was banned when i first got sucked into a heated thread) .Just a thought but generally i think some of the stuff thats classed as "off topic" is the most therapuetic ;D...phew
I was against computers and only got one along with broadband becoming widely available. Then I went around telling everyone how marvelous they were much as I do on here.
I jumped straight in, top spec and full microsoft office 2003. So i don't know anything about dial up or early users or forums.
And do you notice how those that complain about the mods and how much more help they need then go on to say how they can't do it, or are too busy/not good enough etc?

These people like to come on here and just stir things up. It's like running up to the fire and throwing petrol on it and then running away. I say if you have something to say about mods you should be prepared to do the job yourself, STOP moaning about how good things were in the 'old days' as we're not interested really.
