Volume of business when starting..
« on: February 10, 2008, 10:05:44 pm »
What would expect, or from your experience, how many customers would you expect to have after 3 months advertising / canvassing??

I know it's all on the effort put in etc, but on average what would expect the no. to be after 3 months and then 6 months???

Thanks

I have been leafleting , only, for last 4 months, not at all  between 15th dec till 2 weeks ago. I have been  getting on average a 2 % response.

To be honest matey I'm suprised you've even had that.  Leaflets are ok but they are oh so time consuming!  Also you have to put a lot out to get any kind of response.

Why don't you get yourself out canvassing?  you'll pick up work much quicker by knocking on some doors.

Can't beat door knocking - good relationships can build quickly, but they need to see you for that to happen.

Approaching people personally will work better, though I'm surprised I can remember canvassing - haven't done it for many, many years!! ;D

2% is good. As window washers says 0.5%-1% is more common.

By the time you've popped the leaflet through the letterbox you may as well just ring the doorbell and ask the question.

The worst people can say is "no"

Very very few are aggressive.

I started in September, with only a few days of canvassing per month, and a couple of 500 leaflet drops.  from no customers I now have 120, which pays me a wage (not a big wage, but enough for beer and tabs..for the wife  ;)  )
