Alex, Ive been browsing round various sites regarding gearing up with micro-bore, and your site appears to be the most comprehensive, but in all honesty being that Im a newbie to WFP, Im also finding it a tad confusing  ;D (which ain't hard)

Can you give me an idea of what Id need to get from you bearing in mind that I have a Freedom Trolley, the outlet of that has a female Hozelock connection on it and the pipe-work on the pole has a metallic male fitting with a barb suitable for pole pipe (if that makes sense, cant find one anywhere else for illustrative purposes) but Im imagining would probably have to be removed anyway to fit a suitable micro-bore connection to anyway.

What I want is 60m of 6mm micro-bore/metal-reel and all the fittings needed considering what Ive got setup at the mo.

Plain English would help as its a mine-field at the mo; too many types of fittings, too many types of ways of fitting those fittings   ??? ??? or www links would help to show me  what to order.......... or the Samaritans  ;D  ;D

Dont want much do I  ;D

Thanks

Matt

I will try and help give Alex a break  :)

Here is what u need.

1/ a small length of 1/2 inch hose with H/lock type STOP CONNECTORS oj each end.

2/ a DOUBLE MALE H/Lok type connector

OK So u now have a small length of 1/2 inch hose with a stop connector on each and and an adaptor in one of them. Plug the adaptor into ur trolley and the other end will fit the ususal h/lok male connectors on reels.

The connector u have on the end of ur pole is a H/Lok male one so it's best to keep it and not bother with the EZ snap (Rectus type 21 is what they are I believe)  connectors.

Just get a reel with 60mtrs of microbore and ask the supplier to adapt it to have a H/lok FEMALE STOP CONNECTOR on the end of the hose.

Have Fun!!!   :)

Thanks brightnclean (would you like a job? :))

Would the female hozelock from the freedom trolley simply plug into the side of the hose reel?

As you only need 60m of micorbore (£26.40) the smallest Hozelock reel from B&Q would easily hold this and be very light: (£25)

All you need then is a fitting kit for the microbore hose similar to what is listed for £8.50 on our site.

http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Hoses.html

Note that the fitting kit for hozelock (plastic reels) has slightly different parts to the picture.

Then all you need is to add a male EZ-Snap connector and Protecta-Ball to the pole end (£2)

http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/EZ-Snap_Range.html

And you will also need 1x 'O' ring clip or jubilee clip to fasten this on with.

Cheers for the offer Alex... lemme think about it....  errr  NOPE!!!

Listen mate I spent  lot of years in senior retail management and the very thought of dealing with a load of WC'ers as customer fills me with dread  :o

Naa u cant just attach the reel to the trolley outlet. It's not long enough so u need that adaptor.

Also I wouldnt change the pole fittings to EZ snap type. I keep all mine H/lok and find them a lot better. OK ya gotta replace them now and then but they seem to last a lot longer than the rectus type.

Also if u change to Rectus (EZ snap) U cant plug the pole hose into the trolley which has a H/lok type (The black n orange one) stop fitting. I use starightforward H/lock reels a lot (30 mtr) ones for naughty stuff like pluggin into cusies taps for con roof etc cleans.. works for me  :)

matt i use a trolley and this is what i use to connect the trolley to 100m of microbore. I also use those fittings that alex has in his post to you.
A picture is worth a 1000 words.
I cut off 12 inch of microbore with one of alex's ez snap fittings on the end. Pushed that into 10 inches of 1/2 inch hose and secured with a jubilee clip. A hozelock connector on the end that plugs into the trolley.

The hose from the Freedom Trolley is usually long enough if you take it out of the powder coated 'O' clip that holds it to the side of the trolley. Unscrew the female connector and liberate the hose before re-attaching the connector.

Good point about sticking to Hozelock to give you adaptability with connecting to taps etc. It is worth considering this. Having spent 7 years trying different connectors the EZ-Snap (rectus/schrader) ones I find far easier to use day in day out. The Hozelock ones gave me so much hassle in using them, they were usually fine for a month or so before sticking on or not connecting well, however some people seem to get on very well with them. We do make adapters that allow you to use various EZ-Snap combinations with Hozelock connectors.

Sure I cannot tempt you with a job? There are downsides, but it is always a satisfying feeling getting a problem sorted for a customer or helping them work more easily. Not that these are the type of things that make you any money, but there's more to life than that, so were told :)

I used to have the trolley plugged into the van mount (when main battery has gone flat) and 3 foot of 1/2 inch hose running from the trolley to the reel of microbore standing on the ground outside the van door is ample. That 1/2 inch hose has hozelock connections at each end.
I never used to get on with just using a flojet that alex recommended but the last few weeks i have been using it as the main van mount and with a flow control fitting between the tank and the pump (that i read on here the other day can be tuned down to restrict the flow) i find it is brilliant.
No leaks at all which i get from the hozelock connections. Not much i admit, just drips.

if using a plastic hosereel you should use plastic hoselock fittings dont use a brass one as when your reeling it in under pressure the brass will wear the plastic fitting on the reel very quickly. The plastic ones break all the time, brass doesnt. So unless you get a metal reel get some spare plastic fittings.
