dave don't worry to much about the longterm prospects cos once they do come up good with wfp the 1st time, they will preety much always come good thereafter.
The hard work is getting them good in the 1st place. It's downhill all the way after that.
By the way you've explained it, it sounds like the higher flow rate was causing splashes.

is it best to clean all the frames on every clean?? or do you jsut clean the frames up on first cleans then just clean glass them then on?

dont know bout mark but i do frames every time think you will find most do.....takes seconds

If i have had problems with spotting on a 1st clean i will avoid the top of the frames until they look as though they need a clean. If they are still clean i will give them a quick brush over to get rid off cobwebs or leaves if they are on there, otherwise i leave alone until necessary. Even though i have had spots on 1st cleans etc with pvc i am confident i can do them well and will always brush over them.
Wooden windows especially barn conversions where the frames are stained black with preservative or whatever it is are where i have got most of my problems and will try and avoid these as i spent 8 months cleaning one before they came up good.
I had to wipe a damp microfibre over the odd spot in the meantime.

Well il see how it goes maybe do frames every now and then.
My house windows the water doesnt sheet! hate doing them ones because i just dont know if iv rinished enuf! if you can understand what i mean on houses that sheet you can see it all running down washing the much away.
but as i say with my house it doesnt lol and looks like its going to dry horible but does dry spot free in the end. maybe one or 2 spots but nothing to worry about

ive found i get more dirty run marks off sheeting windows,the ones that bead seem to dry ok ive just finished doing 38 high 3rd floor windows(weekly) 2nd time ive cleaned them and they are slill not 100%. imo wfp is ok just about but you never know if they are going to dry perfect thats why ive started blading any bottom windows
