I don't bother with varistream or ecoflo, I have an inline tap set between the van tank and the pump, and mostly have it set so that I'm using mo more than about a litre and a half of water a minute, might even be less than that.

I know that using the likes of a varistream is good for the battery as the drain on it isn't so great, but apart from that I don't see the point in using one.
My pressure switch on the pump never cuts in (unless I disconnect the pole hose from the microbore of course) as the flow isn't restricted on the pressure side of the pump.

Last time I measured it from the pole end it was about 1.7-1.8 litres. This was with no varistream just a flojet pump and 100 metres of microbore.

Alex
That is about what I am getting on the new digital varistream but on the highest setting.
Would you say that sounds right, my other van is just pump and control valve and delivers about the same.

I would imagine then that your varistream is just acting as an expensive pressure switch.  I have tried out an electronic flow control in the past and found that for my set up I had to have it on maximum.  I felt this was giving me no benefit so got rid of it.

Thanx for the replies chaps

Forgot  to mention, I toasted my varistream last year and haven't bothered to replace it.

I don't think I will now.

I use a surflow 4lit per min pump connected to 200 feet of winspray hose.
