hi all just need some advice from the pro's on here. i just starting out and been doing some windows today that not been done at all for 5 years. pvc was nearly black and just wanted to know what the best thing to clean it with. tried some elbow grease but needs a bit more than that.

Have you been asked to get them back to white as some of my custies are like this but unless asked and a quote going for this then they stay the way they are.With wfp over time they will get bettter.

hi i working traditional and customer paying extra for it cos i said it will take a few cleans to get on top of it all and will get them better next time. the colour has faded but is mainly like black scale and want to get them as good as i can.

are you using uPVC cleaner and a white scouring pad?

You could use TFR but you would need to rinse for longer as it goes a bit like fairy and bubbles up.

I would still use TFR with gloves.

We used to use a cleaning agent which was like tecut but formulated for upvc at cuts back by 1000of a mm to give a deep shine and if performed twice you could make the frames look like new.

i try to find the name of it.

Rhodorsil comes as a paste or a solvent.

solvent upvc cleaner and a scourer works best.takes a bit of time about 3-5 mins a window but they will come up like new.

one thing confuses me about using solvents on upvc and its this ..... If the solvent is too strong wont it take the protective surface off ?

on a lot yes it will, and the frames will get dirty quicker

I know quite a few wc/s and they are all looking for the holy grail ( not litarally ) a upvc cleaner that is non toxic , effective, and quick to use . Because as the saying goes ....the possibilities are endless

The company that installed my windows reccomend using a cream cleaner (i.e CIF) and a soft sponge. Rinsed well after.

Trouble with that it needs rinsing off and it takes ages !
