4 Day Week
« on: February 08, 2008, 09:46:58 am »
I love my 4 day week, makes the weekend worthwhile.
Off out for the day with the wife and lunch out. Beats working for someone else.
Anyone else have a 4 day week ?

I'm working towards a  4 day week.... can't wait ;D ;D

Hopefully another 3 months and I'll be there.

Although, I was going to start next weeks today, as I'm in front. But after eating my breaky I thought  - 'hang right on there tiger' - I'm the boss, I'm taking a day off to finish my deck, and catch up on home jobs.

This being self employed malarkey is OK, init !!!! :P

I try to always have a 4 day week..... tis the reason I started this business in the first place ;) Had my best week EVER (including all the time I was employed) last month, and it was a Monday-Thursday :):) I'm off today, nice long weekend, taking the missus away for a few days. Proper work/life balance :):)

I try to make my weeks 3 days.  gives me plenty of time to catch up if rained off, and gives me a spare day if anyone wants a special job (roofs etc)

Although this may well have to go to a 4 day week if work increases at the rate it is beginning to...

Yes I certainly do think there's some slacking going on. You lot must be crazy, get out there and earn the money. I try and work six days, saturday to try and catch things I've missed, and tomorow (i mean sun) i've an £80 gutter and house that should be 2 hrs.

If you want to be successfull you have to work.

I find it a massive double standard on this site that people get slated for high earnings as braggarts, but the ones doing the slating are quite prepared to loftily state they only work three days and rely on their their wifes earnings.

I understand about priorities, but it's important to me to be successful. I've been skint and I didn't like it.

Depends what your goals are mr solubility i earn more than enough in the 4 days that i work as my outgoings are now at a stable and managable level i can now afford to take it easier and enjoy life abit i dont want to work 6 days a week and not have time to enjoy the finer things in life as the saying goes you are a long time dead so enjoy

Yeah we do a 4 day week and we love it. 16 days a month work. Heaven.

Me and my business partner spent 14 years working like dogs as retail managers, lining someone elses pockets. Fourteen stores of which we now clean the windows for!!

Not anymore. Soon to be starting my third year as a Glass Vision Technician!!

Should have done it years ago!!!

Mr Solubility,
if you want to work 6 days a week then go for it, I could work 7 if I wanted to but I was not put on this earth to work. I have a nice work and life balance which is why I work for myself. I don't rely on my wifes earning at all and earn more than enough.
I don't call people who work all the hours that god sends because some might have to, because they have overstretched themselves and have no choice, or that they have no life other than their job.
Each to there own. ;)

Oh by the way, had a great day yesterday, went to Fleetwood and got a new work coat from Freeport outlet and what a bargain, then saw the striken cargo ship Riverdance on the beach at Clevelys, what  a weird sight that was and a lovely pub lunch. Still have the weekend as well, RESULT!
Regards
