I can't remember stuff like that ::).  I price "by the seat of my pants" - treat each job as an individual and price what I think it should be, and what the customer seems able to pay.  It gets me into trouble sometimes - I go to quote on a new job, and find it's next door to an existing one and an identical house.  I have to phone my wife to find out what we charge for the next door one - I know it's none of the custy's business, but if there's a big difference, that's asking for trouble.

Monthly/2 monthly:  I just add on what I think the custy will go for.  It doesn't take any longer to do a bi-monthly but a bit of extra eases the disappointment of not getting the job every month.

As for minimum price - mine's £10.  £3 jobs can be a pain in the a... if the custy's not in - too small to justify an SAE or collecting, so you just wait until you've done it enough times to make it worth while the collect or envelope.

When doing small jobs I let them roll over for 3/4/5 mths then they send a chq payment.... I look at it as a bit of a savings account...

I have got this list printed out and when a new customer wants a price I get my clipboard out and ask them how often they would like the windows cleaned, then show them how much it would cost them.... They then see that I have a set charge and thats the price... I picked up a job the other day and on a mthly clean it should be £ 15  they wanted the windows to be cleaned every 3 mthly, I showed them the sheet and said that will be £ 26..... I got the job :)

Brilliant idea! The simple ones are the best.

Typing my list right now to use this afternoon.

Highrise - I used your list idea this afternoon to boost my confidence in raising prices. I quoted for four houses (4 out of a terrace of 6) with back lane access on a two monthly basis and showed them the list and pointed to the £13 figure instead of the £10. Three accepted and one will let me know tomorrow.

I now have an estimated hours work at £39 instead of £30. Maybe £52 instead of £40 for an hour and a quarter!

I'm glad it worked for you ...

It has worked for me loads of times now and i'm getting more money  for the same jobs, Just be careful when putting your old customers prices up on the quoter as I have lost 3 old customers over the last 2 weeks but I have gained about six in this time and I have put some of my old cust prices up aswell...

As they say you lose some :'(, You win loads ;D ;D ;D 8)

have a min charge, 2 monthly is 50% more

Same here!

example

4 weekly £15
6 weekly +25% and round up to nearset £ = £19
8 weekly +50% and round up to nearest £ = £23
12 weekly +100% £30

The customer saves money over the year and your hourly rate is increased!
