merlin ro
« on: February 01, 2008, 07:50:29 pm »
does anyone know if it is possible to backwash  the membranes on a merlin ro
i change  the pre sediment filter on a regular basis but the tds reading on h2o  coming out of the merlin is creeping up,  it used to be 27  when i first  had it 15 months ago  and its now 34 .
how long do the main membranes last ( i use about 2000 litres per week )  if they need replacing whers the best deal ???
                       thanks in anticipation

yes you can, I had one and my supplier gave me a fitting (like the one that goes on the pole hose), connected to pole tubing with a piece of 6mm push pipe on the end - it pushes into the top port of the merlin, you close the product and inlet of the merlin and turn your pump on to push pure water through the merlin allowing the flush to come out of the waste pipe.

works a treat and you can flush hundreds of litres through it if you wish!!

costs about £2 as well.
