Flushing my RO

How do you flush an RO? and what kind of difference can it make to the system.
Its a 40-40 and the levels have risen dramatically, from 6ppm to 200ppm in a month of replacing the membrane. I have been told that flushing it could sort it out.
Hope smoeone can helps cos its driving me mad.
Cheers guys.

Turn the flush valve to the open position and leave running for several hours. This is the valve that sets your production/waste ratio. Perhaps your new membrane prefers a higher waste ratio setting. Ideally you should flush a 4040 membrane for at least 10 minutes before each major fill.

I would recommend about the same, 5-10 minutes before each large fill (1000litres).
