i see some of you have tanks in your van to run the power washers?

how much water do you need? well supose how long is a peice of string, but how much does day 400 litres last? how do you feed it? do you have to pump the water to it or does it draw it?

400 litrs will last about 30 mins of continuous pressure washing. it is drawn by the machine so you dont have to pump the water. i only use my tank for the odd occasion there is no water supply, and it is a small job.

If you buy a PW your see the spec - LPM, my one is 13 LPM

So if you had a 1000lt tank, it would last 76 mins

On most jobs I use a wheelie bin, I use the customers tap to fill it up and to keep it toped up

I use a 130 litre water barrell fitted with a ball cock to prevent overflowing. The only time I have had an issue with lack of water flow on a job, I took my 1000litre ibc in my trailer and pumped from that, and even with a poor flow from the customers tap, it still kept me going all day. The best thing to do is get a clear 20 litre can and take it with you to each job you quote on, and see how long it takes to fill to the top. If your washer runs at 15 litres/min and the tap is only putting out about 12, you know you will need an extra back up supply.
