hi there

if you are quoting against an existing supplier, then u really need their spec to make sure that your pricing and spec is the same, if you make your own up then you can be quoting for a differing service to one they a;lready have.

so in the first instnace ask them for a copy of the current spec. then quote against that, if you disagree with the spec then offer them an alternative spec, "YOUR SPEC" to either demonstrate a better spec for more money or a more competitive spec to save them money

I am doing a quote on Monday for a school.  They are currently cleaned by the coucil in there county.  They are sure they can get a better price and I can probably deliver a higher service from what I seen, at a better price also.  One of the things they want is a "cleaner in charge" with duties similiar to a care taker which involves moving small fixtures and minor repairs.  Any Idea what I should have to expect to pay per hour for someone that would be a credit to my orgainsation?  Also they have a caretaker in place that in my mind is probably over paid, what is the implications of TUPE and how often do you ususally have people that actually enforce their rights under TUPE?

Thanks for any help

hi there

if the council are cleaning the property at the present time, and a caretaker, they will just tupe all the people over to the inoming clenaing company,

you need to get hold of that info before quoting really.

it sounds like they are looking at a cost cutting exercise, in reality its a profit cutting exercise, cause you will have to take the exisitng staff at the same rates etc.

hope that helps.
