I don't really understand what this ban on links is supposed to be about.

The only people it seems to affect, the Academy forum and the DIY site are very ones that most people in our very small community would most like to know about.

I don't question the site owners right to do it. I just think it's stupid and shortsighted.

This is the best and most open forum of it's kind, and I can see not wanting to give rivals a free ride, but a degree of openess makes far better sense.

Somerset Maughaun (a short story writer) said, when speaking of his school and university friends later in life...
"It was not only necessary that I should succeed, it was also necessary that they should all fail...."
That is what comes across to me. A successfull man who cannot allow others even the smallest moments of triumph.

How can a forum be open if its censored to exclude the competittion.

Despite the way both the Training Academy and Matt's DIY site are censored here,.. I must say I think its very good form on their behalf that they still allow links to be posted back to CIU.

Nath we don't have a problem on the Academy with members posting links back to CIU or any other forum, we also have no restrictions to people or companies wanting to advertise and its all free.
Our forum was set up to help members and not restrict them in anyway.

I think Matt works along similar lines, and doesn't mind links back to other forums, we all infact have links back to each others forums, blimey Nath we even have your forum link on there.  ;D ;)

it would be a lot better if we did all work together,  at the end of the day we all move around the forums anyway,   as for links, i see no problem with this, as i think its only right members should see them, i was once told i was a conflict of interest,  ::)  what ever thats suppose to mean,
