Richy,

Have you tried doing it yourself, the first couple of doors are hard at first but after that you will gain confidence and think it is a doddle.  ;)

My first question is do you have a window cleaner, if they say yes then say thanks and leave. No doors shut in your face.

knocking can be hard but once u get started it's ok...... sometimes you can get disheartened with it , but when u go out and pick up a dozen houses in an hour it can be a real buzz...

my advice is drive around and find areas you would like to target, and then start knocking about 4pm in the evening or a bit earlier.... your best off talking to the lady of the  house ,as they are more likely to say yes  ;)

so going at the right time plays a part....plus you start getting to know the custie from the start :)

yeah, know what you mean but i hate rejection when it comes to business.i  would rather pay someone to do the job because i think it is too much hassel. i think u have to be suited to that kind of work, and dont think i am. i have had a reach and wash system for around 8 years now and know i havent made the most of it. i have always depended on the yellow pages and yel.com but in my opinion, r  very over rated. what do you think?

Bit like finding the sheep in amongst the goats in Taffy's area  ;)

In England you have too many window cleaners to choose from in yellow pages, in Scotland you take the phone off the hook as there will only be probably 3 of you.  ;D

Get a card in local shops and supermarkets, don't know where you live but a lot of window cleaners also use Gumtree on the web. Do not know how succesful that is.

Or put leaflets on car windows outside shops.

Or put a sign up along the raod.

Loads of ideas to think about.

I pay others to do this for me also, I have in feb a canvsser starting work for us fully time instead of paying others, this way i can mould to what i really want and done the way I want it.

Knocking on doors is soul distroying, if you are not very good it really does paint a very back picture so this has to be thought of before going knocking on a door.

I dont have a problem paying companies out there that do this service I have used a few over the years, i am now am in a position to have someone employed to do it which is great, should have done this long time ago.
