Xtel Hybrid carbon fibre pole
« on: January 25, 2008, 02:25:31 pm »
Hi Guy

Just spoke to pure Freedom about a new pole and they recomended the xtel hybrid pole 30ft. What do you guy think about this pole and does it bend much when extended ?

Thanks
James

They are very good poles and a good price as well.

Good rigidity

Good weight

Although the Facelift Carbon Fibre is slightly lighter.

Hi James,

I do have an interest in the company, but I do not actually run it!

At the moment the office is shut on a Friday, we are in the process of moving into larger premises and taking on new staff so the phone will soon be manned 5 days a week.

Andrew at PureFreedom is usually quite keen on his pricing.

Here is our price breakdown on this pole

31ft X-Tel Hybrid (Carbon/Glass) Pole
   £302.00
Vikan Mono-Filament Rectangular
   £21.50

Subtotal   £323.50
Shipping (First Class Post)   £14.95
VAT charge   £59.23
Total   £397.68

I think they are good, and great value for money, light and rigid.  I have a 28ft one, here's a pick of it fully extended and horizontal.  Set me back about £300 with a brush.

Alex is being a little modest not mentioning his new pole.  If your thinking of spending that kind of money I'd have a look at the SL-X from gardeners even lighter and more rigid that the hybrid from what I've heard.

Alex any more pics of the SL-X.

Simon.

I use one 28ft. Good bit of gear.

If purchasing again I would go for Alex Gardeners new pole.

I've got a 34' hybrid- but as others have said Alex Gardiners new pole is now the daddy if you want the best. (at a sensible price).

Why should he mention it? The first batch mostly have deposits on them anyway.

this is only my opinion, jsmc but a 17' xtel  is never out the way because  it's very cheap and does 90% of work. I have two and am getting a third. Don't miss a days work because you have a problem with a pole.
