Have a look on your pump at the amperage, it will probably read 7-8amps. 70 amp battery minus 25% (flat charge) divided by amps used gives working hours use as a rough guide. :)

we have a leisure battery 80amp but we have been told that you cannot recharge these overnight as they are slow charge slow discharge is this right, if so does this mean we need 2 one to use one to charge
there are more windows than window cleaners so lets help each other

I have 2 110 amp leisure batteries that I charge most nights using 2 intelligent battery chargers (6amps per hour), it reduces the charge when the battery is almost fully charged and just trickle charges intermitently when fully charged. I can run an extension lead out to my van, plug in the battery chargers when I get home and disconnect them in the morning when I go to work. I have no problems charging my batteries with these type of chargers as they are safe for slow charging. Car battery chargers work differently to leisure & gel battery chargers.

I use one 85 amp hour battery. My charger is an intelligent charger and has three settings. 2v, 5v and 10v. If used on the 2v deep cycle setting it can take up to 48 hours to charge but on the 5v deep cycle setting it will charge overnight even from flat. It says in the batteries instruction that it recommends  a below 5v charge for longer working life. I have a split charge on the van but still occasionally need to charge the battery especially after large commercial jobs or holidays.

I hope this helps
