Is this a figment of my imagination?
« on: January 22, 2008, 06:59:39 pm »
Since I went wfp i have noticed windows are much cleaner, I normally do my shops Trad but yesterday I got there and I broke my bucket, I went into all the shops and told them i was going to do them with wfp, every one was fine and didn't really seem to care how I did them, by the time I did my last shop I noticed the windows of my first shop windows were gleaming and I was chuffed to bits, so there wfp from now on.

There is a house next door to the shops that I do on a monthly cycle due to it being on a main road, this is always done wfp, yesterday I notice it seemed more dirty than normal but my shop windows weren't so bad.

I then went on to my domestics and often do a roof of a well kept wooden conservatory, I also noticed the timber struts of the roof were all green with algae, now this house I have had for 8 years and used to do this roof with a pole and applicator when I was trad, I have never seen the roof struts looking green when i was Trad, but since changing to wfp these wooden struts are now going green during the winter months.

We all know the windows stay cleaner longer but if the windows do get dirty before the next clean are they more dirtier than they used to be?
And has anyone noticed if the wooden frame type go green with algae due to pure water being used.

I think the fact that no film of soap is left makes all the difference, it stops the window getting dirty as easy, and yes they do look cleaner with wfp, no doubt about it, Luke

Jeff have you not noticed it hasn't stopped raining for weeks? Patios are covered in slime and are as slippery as hell.

Never noticed the rain, has it been raining then  ;D ;D
its the timber roof type of conservatory that I'm on about the upvc type I did next door was fine, no a spot of algae and I do both roofs on the same day each time.

Luke, I know why the windows stay cleaner longer, i was asking if you or anyone had noticed if you leave them until they do get dirty are they any dirtier than they would be normaly if you did them using Trad methods.

Err i would imagine the wood might be getting sodden and be holding the moisture enabling algae to grow? :)

I have a good customer in a big gated house in Chorleywood ( mega posh area) since I went WFP she has gone back from 8 weeks to 12 weeks. Now she wants to go to 16 weeks. I am going with it because she is still a good customer but her arguement is the windows are still clean and don't need doing again.
I have to say she has a point.

I've noticed green on some of my upvc joints. Sometimes bird soil is more impacted because it's been left longer.

As you know i'm hot because I keep going on about it, well a lot of dirt or greyness comes off the sills because of this, so they come cleaner, but I have noticed green growth comes very quickly in any crevasses.

Normaly shaded areas get algea, and lit areas don't. It's the opposite form of life on earth to photo synthesis, but pure water seems to accelerate it's growth. It might be that one of the few benefits of any soap residue is it inhibites such growth?

Sorry to go off topic, sort of, but is this a figment of my Imagination? I've just been on the training academy forum and some woman keeps talking to me. What does she want?

Do you know Billozz you are the first person who has agreed with anything I've said on this forum in about three months. So thanks for that.

It maybe has always been there the reason you are all noticing it now is that everywhere else is much cleaner and any dirt now stands out
or possibly not just mindless rambling
