to be truthful and a bit blunt, if you need to ask advise about building a truckmount then you don't have the knowledge to do it

most of the people who I know who have made truckmount made it then asked questions about..(.eg) power transfer, vacuum control, HX units inline filters, etc

if you can't build it from whats in your head then don't bother.

I did and it works a treat. Mike has raised a good point. When I built mine I didn't consider for a moment that I may not be able to do it. Unless you have a similar confidence/arrogance then you may not have the drive to see it through. On top of this you will also need some understanding of engineering matters.

I don't think it's about confidence/arrogance its about good mechanical knowledge and understanding of T/M construction,

before building my first T/M I had my head stuck into loads of truckmounts ( I was escorted off a stand at a tradeshow for taking photos of intricate truckmount components) I searched the Internet for picture of the inside of T/Ms

if you grow up getting your hands dirty mucking about with cars or motorbikes, know how to weld, then you might have a chance.

From what you say would you not be better off getting a second hand one that just needs a bit of fettling rather than starting from scratch?

I'd say no ;)

the thing about making your own is, you know it inside-out, anything goes wrong its an easy fix, its not the same when some one else makes it.

Is it more like a crawl then a prowl then?

More nosey then anything else but for £2k it's worth considering as a spair, how many miles has it done?

Thank you all for your comments!!!!
And thank you mr hatton for your encouragement!
It was a bit blunt mike! i would not ask you to build one for me as i have a friend who has been in engineering, fabrication and he also lectures and educates others on motorcycle mechanics!!! forthe last 25 + yrs!!! and i would like to help him build one for myself so i could start getting some sort of knowledge myself!    i was looking for some sort of blueprint or pics as a guide to work from!

Thank you all

Will

Will.  I've not seen any blueprints but if you are serious about building a machine here are all the T/M builders in the USA if you go to thier websites most have pictures some very detailed. you can get an idea from these.

Hi Gary. What are you doing in here? Does your missus know ;D

Mike
Is it just a coincednce that you are rather confident, perhaps even bordering on arrogant too. In the nicest possible way of course 8)

In my view without this ingedient you would not even consider considering to DIY.
