Gutter Lance before & after pictures
« on: January 18, 2008, 07:59:18 pm »
As promised in a post this morning here are some before and after pictures of some gutters that I cleaned out today using my gutter lance connected to a pressure washer.

There are also a couple of pictures of me using the lance a few months back on some other houses.

Hi Andy

Was thinking of getting into gutter cleaning, I was thinking the vacuum route but this option is quiet expensive.

Can I ask you what equipment you have and can/do you show your customers the results ?

Cheers

Peter

Nice one Andy, I did those six houses in one day I was on about some months back, and boy did my arms ache the next day  ;D ;D

Its nice to see the internal shots of the guttering, and was thinking of buying a wireless camera from ebay to show the custy's the results afterwards.

Do you do the external sections as well?   I do,  I just take of the gutter section off and do the outsides facias and soffits.

Thanks for all the advice in the past. ;)

Yeah the gutter vac route is expensive I think.

I have a pressure washer, extendable lance, gutter attachment.

I've never actually ever shown any customers the results... They just trust that you have cleaned them!

It does make a bit of a mess, and yes you do have to wipe down the guttering after - or just give the outside a blast with the pressure washer.

Whatever mess it makes I would still rather use it than clean gutters from a ladder!

Once you've used it a few times your arms don't ache as much :)

I do clean the outside of the guttering + fascias and soffits, I just blast it with the pressure washer or use WFP to scrub any stubborn stains away.

I've just got a Sealey 1500 psi pressure washer... I didn't want anything more powerful for gutter cleaning otherwise it gets a bit difficult to control the lance at height when you are spraying.

if you are pressure washing gutters out, and I am guessing whats in there blows everywhere, have you ever got water in there lofts ect? and this most be a total nightmare if they have a conservatory because that would go all over the roof.

Andy I am not knocking you, I am interested and am asking things that concern me.

while I am here what is the price for the lance and the pressure washer to run it (is it a petrol pressure washer ?)

Ian
p.s I use ladders, and if I can get off them it means I am safer

I've never had any complaints about water going anywhere that it shouldn't... I have had some muck fall on conservatory roofs before, but a quick blast with the washer on the way down gets rid of all that.

From memory the lance was £70ish from Northen Tool... My pressure washer is a petrol one that I got new on ebay for £140.

Here is the link to the lance and if you scroll down on the right are the nozzles and the gutter cleaner.

Like Andy says if any thing goes onto a conservatory roof a quick blast and its gone.

No complaints about water from any of my custy's and I knocked 6 houses out in one day with very little experience but tips from Andy and a couple of other members.

I now have 18 customers waiting to have there guttering done, next week even in the rain the jobs can get done.

andy, jeff, or any one else who does the gutter cleaning how do you work your price out  ie so much per metre or do you look at it and think that will take 30 mins so i will charge them£40 or what ever the reason i have not really bothered is i dont want to apear to be charging to much , but at the same time it can be a dirty job and i can make good money from just cleaning the windows so i dont want to price a gutter  clean only to think i could of got more for just doing windows .(thanks andy for pics ) also andy how many gutter cleans do you do on average are windows still your main bread and butter thanks again marc
