rag it and run?
« on: November 26, 2004, 04:25:14 pm »
Hi all,can anyone tell me why there is so many rag it and runners out there?Been cleaning windows now for 5 years, and love it,but just get fed up with so many window cleaners who go around with a dirty bit of cloth and no water.I have just took over a round from a window cleaner who did rag it,so he was cheap with his prices£2.20 for a front,i priced it up at £4.50 and people was saying i was to much, and my other window cleaner only changed £2.20.I said but i clean the windows with soap and water, and scrim the corners,it amazes me that people dont say anything. Also would anybody buy a round that was cleaned for years, stopped in may, some cleaned once in the last 6 months by some other window cleaning co,who was going to buy it,but pulled out? ??? >:(

Hi

I would say be careful because if you are buying a round that has not been cleaned for 6 months or so then the customers you think you have invested in may have a new window cleaner and you dont have a leg to stand on so be careful as I boght some work and was in a similar position to you - wasnt cleaned for months and the previous cleaner was crap but I sorted it out and fixed the business and they are all great now.

Best of luck and if you want anymore advice then just ask

we once cleaned some windows and the lady of the house asked us "whats that" and pointed to the soapy water we were putting on the window, she had never seen soap being used on her windows
there are more windows than window cleaners so lets help each other
