Hi Alex,

Is there a positive stop on the SL-X, which will prevent the sections from coming out? Or atleast a sticker on it, saying stop now?

If yes, how would that work with the extension section? Would the extension section not have the positive stop then?

And how is the brush coming along? Last thread you mentioned how difficult it was, and that the design of the pole was actually a smoother process.

Being half way through January, and (hopefully) less  then 2 weeks to go till release.....is there anything picture wise that you can show us. I'm absolutely stoked about this pole, and I'd really love to see some more.

Especially on the brush, got the Vikan Rectangular now, but it's darn heavy, I think it's just the X-tel that's whippy tho that makes it feel like a ton. I'm going to start wfp middle/end of february, and I kinda leaning towards a lighter brush, but heard the current superlite brush isn't the best in durability. Will keep the Vikan for Facia's and Conservatorys.

I think on the new pole to take the pole apart you need to losen a screw or nut in order to pull a section out.

Oh I already love the specs. I can't believe how rigid the thing looks on paper at normal Domestic hights.

Any other pole manuf. can pack in or step it up if this is as good as it says.

There is a positive stop on the SL-X sections which is manufactured into the end of the pole sections. In order to remove sections, unscrew an Allen bolt a couple of turns and the larger section will slide off.  It's a very simple design that works very well and because of this we have design protected it with the UK Patent Office.

To get round the lack of an end stop on the extension section there will be a clear marker on the section below showing when to stop extending.

The brush project is progressing.  The factory has now manufactured an initial production sample for us but had left off a couple of details so they are now in the process of re-manufacturing the sample for our final approval.  We have been assured by the factory that once we approve the sample, production can begin almost immediately.

I have a fishing rod modular which is a year old and which I use because:-

1. It is so light
2. It is so rigid

Its downfall is it's durability. I can bodge repair indefinitely but know it is soon time to go more professional. (the hose up the outside can be a pain sometimes too.)

I am looking for a new pole which will be very light at domestic levels but on third floor (30ft ish pole length) will be very rigid.

I will post with the weights of my current pole set at it's various heights and wonder if you could let me know what your new one is at the same heights - I know that the telescopic part will be the same at whatever length it is set.(how long is that?)

Oh, and prices?

Section 1 inc aluminium brush adaptor. 150gm/83 cm
Section 2  140gm/166cm

I use the above (very light) sections together for most downstairs work and bungalows (using the top section only where access is tight/awkward.)

Section 3 400g/160 cm covers top windows on "council house type heights"
This one gets the most wear and tear and has been heavily repaired by me and beefed up!

The whole pole to this length is 3.9m/12'6" 3.9m

Section 4 200g/173cm for higher older domestics/commercial two floor work and where I want to stand further back

The whole pole assembled to this length is 5.5m/18ft

Sections 5/6 260g/360g 175/178cm use over conservatories, 3rd floor farmhouses and flats, 3rd floor businesses

The whole pole is 7.8m/29ft and weighs 1.450kg at this length without brush and hose.

What is the extended length and weight of your pole? How heavy are the additional extensions?

Sounds almost as nerdy as me!!

The SL-X telescopic pole is 25ft in length without gooseneck and will have a 30ft reach. The weight of the pole is 1459g so about 9g heavier than your 29ft pole.

Sections can easily be removed and stored in the vehicle for occasional use, below are the various sizes and weights:

25ft = 1459g
20ft = 1134g
15ft = 813g
10.5ft = 517g
5.5ft = 233g

For those who will occasionally need to go a little higher there will be a 5ft extension which will take the pole to an actual 30ft (35ft reach) the complete pole will then weigh 1800g.

How do you remove one of the sections?
How do you attach the extension? How many extensions can you add?
How does the hose work? In the pole/outside?

To remove sections, undo the Allen bolt on the clamp a couple of turns and slide the section off.

There is only one extension you can fit (at the moment) and this fits by opening the clamp and sliding on.

The hose is internal.  To remove sections or add an extension you will need to fit the optional quick release in line connector to the pole hose.
