i have the 12v 100psi sureflow. The connections on the pressure switch are giving me intermmitent power.
Would i be able to just change the pressure switch to solve the problem or would the whole pump need replacing?

Also do any of you know if the pressure switch would be covered by a manufacturers warranty?

Looked on cleantech website and they are selling the pressue switch at £12.50, other sites range from £20 - £25. Is there a difference?

Buy a varistream,no switch needed.

yes, digital varistream is the latest and seems to have better features, then just disconnect the wires to the pressure switch. Approx £75.

First, I agree.....Varistream.  But you can just replace the pressure switch.  About £12.50 + Delivery + V.A.T from Cleantech.

Replace the pressure switch and wait for it to blow again,save your money in the long run and buy a varistream.

Microswitch from Maplins, you'll just need to change the spade connectors to the microswitch itself, cheap at £1.50

why have a micro switch ? i dont know why anyone would not use a varistream or flowmaster, that means the pump is only on off full power, which cant be good for the pump, you have no control over your water, and i you just have a valve on the end of your hose, when its off the pump is going to be thrashing out for nothing. The pressure switches wear out too easy, varistreams can last years and years... and then you have decent control over your flow, and it saves power and water when youve got the valve closed

Ask Alex @ Gardiners why he doesn't use any electronic control.
I do but it was just coz folks like you posted saying you gotta have one, they save battery/water, blah blah blah, so I took the bait
 If you look through my back posts I've had numerous problems with it over the last year and the suppliers/manufacturers don't wanna know without me sending in both the pump and Varistream for them to bench test which means me not working for a week+ :

I use varistream and i'm constantly having to fiddle with it to get the flow rate how i want it. One day it's blowing connectors off and crushing the reel then a week later i can't get enough water at the moment my blue dial (pressure) is as high as it will go. I've ordered a digital one and a new pump so will be trying that this week.

The simplest way is to disconnect your pressure switch, put a "T" piece in the hose from the pump delivery side with a branch going back to the tank.  Put a ball valve in the line back to the tank and then set it to give you the flow of water you need at the brush.  This means the pump will be running all the time it's switched on, but I've got a 75psi flojet that's nearly three years old and still going strong.

I've also got various combinations of pumps/varistreams etc on other set-ups but the bypass system is by far the most reliable.
