How high
« on: December 27, 2007, 07:39:16 pm »
How high do you guys clean up to? what is the highest you have done? there are some insurance companies that have height restrictions and some dont. just wondering how high you have gone with or without, say a cherry picker.

NWH, would that assumption apply to modern townhouses? members on this forum may recommend a pole of 24ft to cover a 3 storey town house. I would assume old victorian buildings are much higher per floor

If you get a pole like the Super-lite 2 http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Super-Lite_Poles.html then even if youve bought a slightly too short version then you can just get an extra section for £50 odd quid!!! So it can grow with your business! Luke

The average ceiling hight of a modern house is 7'6'' and the average ceiling hight of a victorian house is 11'

I`m talking on average, from the top of a window frame to the top of the frame on the next window up,it might not be exact but it`s roughly 10ft or so give or take a few inches. If your new to WFP you don`t want to start of doing 50 and 60ft work, start of lower and work your way up to the bigger stuff, cleaning above 35-40ft is an all new ball game.

83' 6 " - one man pole.

But generally 70 is maximum and its not easy or for beginers, whilst the  new modulars suggest a max of 50-55ft,  they will go higher.
I have 4 poles but use  an Ultralight  over 30ft and do like the latest new 58 fter from http://emporiumpoles.co.uk £675

so far about 50 ft.
But in Jan I'll be jet washing about 60-70ft high from a cherry picker

hi rob,

Its a clean for a decorator.
Ive done quite of bit work for them before, the same type of thing, but not as big as this.

They just want all the rendering cleaned before the new paint goes on, then clean all the windows and frames. It shoulf be about three weeks work. ;D

But learnt lots :)

I only had an 80ft tele boom so maybe the floors are smaller here  ;D or more likely I counted wrong.

Most of you kind are well out of my league. :o

I have done 40' in a cherry picker.  It was ok until we moved... even though lowered to safe height, I didn't like it one bit.  And no extra profit in it for the dead brain cells.

At the moment my pole goes 32' plus about 4' from me so I guess about 35' and it kills me.
I can just about do 3rd floor edwardian with it, and in this wind I feel like I'm landing a shark!
I need a new arm and shoulder, and then I need a new pole if I can afford it
2008.........Where did 2007 go?

83 foot one man operation......Wow.

How the heck do you control that ?

I have been advised to have two men flanking when going over 58 foot
