« on: December 18, 2007, 05:13:31 pm »

Well, Im beginning to find the cold weather kinda wearing now and Im trad.

Ive worked outside all my life, so its not that Im a softie  ;D  ;D but it feels to be dragging, did very little today, just seemed so hard to keep going.

Perhaps I need a good nights kip, but its getting to be rather tedious now, roll on the Spring..................shortest day soon  ;)

I'm trad and have felt cold all day despite layers and layers of clothes...must be an age thing :-[

I get a bit of arthritis in my left thumb which is murder for the first couple of hours.

Not lost any work though through frozen wfp gear so I suppose being trad has it's merits ;D....roll on the Spring...please!

I work fast in the cold weather so I stay lovely and warm. Don't bother adding layers of clothing as I'd be too hot. Keep moving, keep the blood circulating and stay lovely and warm. :)

I just put the hose reel and poles in the shed with my "frost stat" greenhouse heater, wrap my pump in a couple of old wooly jumpers and have an extra half hour in bed.  Still manage to get a good day's work done before dark.

Cheers,

Ian

I've only lost part days until the temperature climbs a little.  I did lose a bit of time thawing stuff out a few days back but have been putting everything in a shed since then that is heated to stay above freezing point.

I've had nothing freeze.
I've been a bit slower because I'm so cold, but that happens every year.

None, backpack and barrels in garage overnight, load up in the morning, get out and get it done. Had a conservatory freeze up bad on me, 1st one in 2 years went back after finished last job in the st and it had thawed out good results were fine.
A bad days fishing is better than a good days work !

It does seem hard this year, although I have known it colder in the past. Ready for ChristmasI reckon.
Only badly frozen up once and had to use coffee from my flask to thaw out my pump, too many people about for the Army method.
