The fumes dont bother me as I only use it during the night , and I am not in the van then. Open the van window in the morning and the fumes are gone

Good, I bought the super one, should get it pretty soon.

How hot do they get? Any chance of the van going up in flames?

You can adjust how high you have it ,  it does get a bit hot but set it on low and you should not have any problems

Got the unit in today, now where can I buy paraffin? Is it called paraffin oil or something? Or is it called petroleum? Confused.
