The slow charge would take a little longer than the fast charge... Does that help?

Just need to find out asap battery died on me yesterday (lucky had enough one), charged it up today and it seemed to charge to quick i could be wrong so need to find out asap cause if battery is knacked I will get another or another charger depending on the results of this post .

I was under the impression that your not supposed to fast charge  an 85amp leisure battery otherwise youll cook it so i always trickle charge them overnight. This is what i was told. Dont know if that helps mate.

As has just been said you should not fast charge a leisure battery but overnight on a slow charge should be more than enough.

I use an 85ah battery (booster for car batteries), if completely flat takes 36-48 hours on trickle charge to be fully charged, however, after 12-14 hours charge I find it enough for a days work even if flat...my day's work is only 4-5 hours though.

on an 85ah battery, work out how many amps have been discharged(with an ammeter, not your tounge), find out what the amage on your charger is and divide that int whats been discharged from the bayttery - phew

been doing it on slow charge and it charges in less than 6 hours so i found out today

I didnt think it was right, guess I will be on the phone again in the morning.

thats totaly lost me, I have a battery charger 4 weeks old, have a battery 6 weeks old, now I either have fantastic battery and charger or something aint right.

under 6 hours on slow charge and battery says fully charged, yet when I work for 3 hours 2 man goes dead as a dodo that cant be right :

need to find out asap if it is again the charger or the battery

Take the battery to your nearest battery specialist and ask them to test it for you.

Youve either drained the battery too low - you can't do this or more than likely definately charged it too quickly - either way - terminal!!!!!

Get a new battery tomorrow

buy one of those battary chargers that turn its self off when the charge is full....about 50 quid.

camping and general do a charger for the lesiure battery about £50 some of these battery chargers only charge the top so that could be you problem ian not giving it a deep enough charge     marc

You would be much better off with a 110amp it would last much longer

is the charger powerful enough for the battery it might be obvious but the bigger the battery the more powerful the charger needs to be , a batterythat big needs a 100 amp charger
