I originally started out with a trolley system from Peter Fogwill at Aquatec, but it has since mutated and grown into a van mount.
So although I didn't strictly start out as DIY, by the time it became a van mount I'd put it together myself, fitted tank and cage (supplied by Peter Fogwill) Hose & reel...er...I've forgotten who supplied the first one! (full size hoze & 100m reel), 2nd hose & reel (Microbore) courtesy of Gardinerpoles.
Pole is now the Superlite....

I might fit a Heath Robertson style of water heater (just an immersion heater) to see what using hot water is like, then if I'm impressed I may well think about getting an all singing, all dancing system from the likes of Ionics or Omnipole....or whoever else may be supplying and fitting them by the time i can afford one!

But first off, rather than outlaying several thousand quid, I'll splash out £30 on an immersion heater!!

As the months pass, my system is slowly but surely mutating all the time.

got my truck fitted out by Waterfed Pole System Ltd.

What sort of truck do you use? Luke

Ford Ranger Double cab pick up.  It's a nice drive and can take the weight.  I've got a 650L tank fitted.  I only brought it because I didn't think I could afford 2 motors and this would double for both.  Now I am running a car as well and with I'd got a van instead.

It is a nice drive though.  You hardly notice the water.

puraqleen system(great poles , modular,for high level work).

From what I've heard those poles are very prone to breaking, especially on the hozelock joints, with dirt getting in them. And they are very expensive. I did hold a section at the Window Cleaning Warehouse, they guys there had been testing one but they werent impressed, but they are very stiff, Luke

The titanium ones are a bit more expensive but imo allmost unbreakable (2years none broken so far). I also trialed the unger modular but found this to be preferable but you know what they say " each to their own". They are expensive but it is a one off outlay as opposed to continually replacing crap telescopic ones like what ionics will give you at fairly high prices. In my first year wfp I bought 6 different telescopics from ionics 18ft 30 ft etc at fairly big expense and all were replaced within 10 months I haven't bought a pole now in nearly 2 years. So imo big outlay but better long term durability and reliability.
