I did it trad, but half the time i didnt want to work in the rain nor did i say I guarenteed it, when i went wfp a webdesign customer said about a rain guarentee, and it stuck in my mind, I now promote this to everyone.

how does it work, well I am quite good at talking to people, so that to me is very easy I just tell them about it beforehand that we work in the rain.
I have had 1 person out of over 500 so far  say no (i just did them the next day) if not in the area next day they wait till the following month and then are charged more i tell them this too.

the way it works is very simple, if you are not 100% happy with your windows if we clean in the rain once it stops we come back and clean again free within 24 hours. I have not had a call from this ever,

I did this trad sometimes some of the time it was to much of a pain in the a// so I didnt work that day as i didnt want to get wet, wfp has changed this as you do not have to detail as you do with trad so there is no reason not to clean them, if they are not happy simple go back and clean again, 95% will never call you and if they do then clean them beats sitting at home not earning money.

I am getting new printed details about this for 08 when they are done I will post the details for everyone the only reason I am having them printed is I am expanding again and saves me alot of talking (which cost me money in my time)

hope this helps

Ian

I offer something similar, it is a gimmick to get the customer to trust that they will be clean even in the rain. I call it a gimmick because Like most wc's I also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee which is the same thing really. The only difference is that I will come back within 48 hours as I generally have work schedules done for the next day by the time any issues are raised.

the reason I advertise it on my van is to get people to ask what it is, and it works a treat  ;)

I didnt work on tuesday because of wind (was an excuse because I didnt want to get wet  :-[) I worked like a dog today, and when it rains tomorrow we are out getting wet but also getting paid .

there is no reason why anyone wfp cant work in the rain, offer the guarantee any probs sort them.

Hear what your saying Rog but to be honest I also read post after post with people talking about the rain etc........

Being completely honest I look at it this way............

1) The rain, unless its torrential we work through, this way the lads earn their wages, the company pays its bills and the customer has clean windows. Complaints = less than 0.5% if at all, lets face it, if we cleaned the windows and 5 minutes later it hammered it down would the customer expect a refund......would I give them a refund.......??

2) Call backs............how many times has a customer called you back to later realise its on the inside, then who pays for the time and fuel to drive to the customer etc....besides, you could be cleaning another property instead of wasting your time..........

I employ staff, have wages to pay, obligations to my staff and have a thriving business and I will not let customers take advantage of me. Too many times people think "oh it's ok, he's just a window cleaner" and don't appreciate that in fact its a business. Funny, as when there is a complaint they soon want a professional solution then!!

All this is explained to any new customer before we take them on and touch wood "ouch" we have very little problems.

We have written contracts with our customers and this way we BOTH know where we stand!
