I've heard that sometimes you need to push a little thumb pump on the backpack sometimes, this might be the problem, Luke

Sounds like an airlock. Disconnect your pole hose from it and wait until it starts pumping again before reconnecting.

Are you using a filter when pouring the water in. It could be debris in the tank.

But I heard that there is a  thumb pump for air locks somewhere on the unit, like a primer, Luke

there is one on the lid, when the pump is running it draws all the air out of the tank,
you need to press the black button regular, found this out myself, as it metions nothing about in in the instuction manuel, if you look at the lid you see the black button in the middle.

Tried the black button over the last few days - doesn't always work. Sometime you have to disconnect the pole hose to get it running again.
