Most people see me in my older van and dont bat an eyelid but if they see me in my car they raise an eyebrow and give me a funny look its even worse when they see my house (i try not to mention where i am going on holiday though)  8)
My reply is i work hard so why should i not treat myself  ;D

I too have had this, one lady cancelled cos she said I must earn too much money for my age to drive around in a BMW, Me thinks she is a bit jealous.

I said to her I have work really hard for 7 years and decided to treat myself and walk off!!

But now I don’t collect so not many people see what I drive unless I’m out quoting.

I get some funny looks if ever i do go out and collect which is not often at all.
I use my wifes car hyundai coupe, always get you are doing well driving that, all i say is you should see the debts i have, they then seem to to nice me .

Get the same with van I just reply: the debt I have to go to. just to clean your windows  :o, that again seems to do the trick.

The perception that people have of window cleaners makes me laugh.

Let them keep thinking that way though I say!

Many customers dont like to think their window cleaner is earning more than them

Some years ago i bought a new Granada Scorpio i had several remarks off one customer about how much i must be on etc and then he cancelled i think you call this jealousy ;D

My motto is if you work hard you play hard

Turn the tables on them. Tell them you recently lost your dad who had fought a long battle with cancer. He left you his car.
They may well wish they hadn't mentioned it. Dai
