Thank you Martin but I have already read that before posting my question.
Dave is talking about stripping and re-colouring slate that's not exactly what I had in mind.
Just asking what product to use for say weekly clean as these floors quite hard to clean and never seem to look right.
I am not flooring specialist hence the asking.

Slate is very easy to clean using a normal hard surface cleaner or floor cleaner, the biggest mistake that a lot of cleaners do is to mix there solutions to strong, this only leaves residue on the floor and doesnt clean it any better or worse, make sure that you rinse the floor correctly to get rid of any possible residues.

Manufacturers of cleaning chemicals spend a lot of time and reserch into finding the correct dilution rates for there chemicals, so make sure you mix them correctly and it will make the job a whole lot easier.

If you are talking about purely cleaning a dirty floor then you simply need a neutral PH stone friendly cleanser, a clean mop and plenty of clean water.

Thank you all.
I like you comment Dave it is so true that we get carried away with doses of chemicals ever so often. Promised myself after reading it to write it in capitals in red all over the products we are using. Maybe that is the problem. I am going there on Thursday armed with few different mops to try for best effect.
Best regards to you all.
