Even if you've got a full day, it still costs more than a full day closer in. ???

If had work say in Gloucester, that's 30 miles from me...

40 mins travelling each way, that's 1 hr 20 at least, depending on traffic.
That's at least £40 gone.
60 miles is about £9-10 in the van.

So it would have to be a £50 better day just to break even.
But then, what's the point in the travelling then?
So it would have to be a £100 better day to be worth it.

In less hours because of travelling?
Couldn't see that happening. ???

You're right Rog, I wouldn't travel if it wasn't worth it. All my work is contract work so no worrying about collecting money or customers saying 'not today it's too wet' or any other excuse. My payments are guaranteed and most of it is by bacs these days. It would be nice to work close to home all the time but that's just not the way it's worked out for me. ( I wouldn't travel far if it was only £100!).

fife and edinburgh mostly in the city the avrg price for a 3 bed house is £8 in fife ur lucky two get £4 ;)

its all still there but the houses are private now and the hall is an adult education centre come wedding venue!!! property prices around there are obscene!! dont know who cleans there but its not me!!
