brentwood, shenfield, chelmsford, stock, ongar, epping

Is there still an area called "Hutton Poplars" in Shenfield?  It was a big orphanage, with a lot of huge Victorian houses arranged around a green, like a small village, with its own two story school building.  I used to clean the windows there in the early 70's - everthing inside and out - a week's work for two men - every house had its own supervisor and you had to get each one to sign to say their windows had been cleaned properly ::)

I won't tell you how much we got for it - you wouldn't believe it anyway ;D

Cheers,

Ian

Perhaps this is why I do alright without having extortionate prices and huge(so say) turnover.

I can't believe how much time and money some of you spend travelling. :o

Except for 3 shops my furthest work is 5 miles from my house.

It all depends on how much work you have in the area you are traveling to!

I travel anywhere for the right price, normally 35 square miles of base

People do seem to cover some pretty large areas.

I work in Surrey, my furthest job is about 2- 3 miles away but the majority are  on my doorstep.
Cheers,
Neil
