is this the universal rule?any water, within any container will freeze +crack underlets say, -5 to-20C whether it can "move"or not?
well i remember our natJ from eireland said pipes dont crack....hey, nat?
im thinking i can sleep at nights nowan not get too worried about my precious hosepipeits a serious thing work can be held up 3 daysordering+waiting for replacement
Its not the freezing that causes the cracking but the expansion of the ice turning back to water when it thaws that is the problem. Thats why you have to thaw household pipes very slowly. Most Pumps will withstand freezing solid, but you have to wait for them to thaw.
