I don't think my customer has cream carpets, but I can imagine they are a pain to keep clean.

Jake, I found a couple of reasonably priced small step ladders at B&Q. They are described as trade, so I am going to get over there sometime and take a look. I can't imagine them being suitable for use day in, day out, but for the odd inside job they might be ok.
