Wall washing ?
« on: October 30, 2007, 09:11:36 am »
Hi guys

I have been asked to clean the walls to the internal common parts of sevaral blocks of flats, To do this by hand would take for ever, is there any specific equipment out there which could make the job quicker and easyier.

hi there .. very easy way .. you need a flat mopping system from vileda  pre spray the walls with multi pupose cleaner in a spray bottle .. in your mop bucket put mpc and quite warm water  and literally go up and down the walls with the flat mop its so easy and you get great results  and your back and arms do not ache .. if you get stuburn marks on the wall . again prespray and use a scouring pad like the ones you use in your kitchen (they are not to abrasive) buy them from the 99p shop if you have one . they are better quality, larger and longer lasting than the ones you get  from your supermarket .. finish off by rinsing with your flat mop..regards......rafferty  :)

You should always start at the bottom and work up, if you are planning on pre-spraying a wall you should wet the surface first because any detergent that runs down the wall can take the surface with it causing streaks or ghosting. Pre-spraying really should only be done if there is nothing else that works. Having a bucket of water with the detergent in it would be the way to start. And a flat mop i agree is a good idea.

I think the best ones to use are the white scouring pads, green ones stain and scratch sometimes
