Hello,

I have a backpack and you can do one side of the house without moving the backpack.

Thing is, between windows and when i'm extending i could do with a hand held trigger to turn it on and off to save water, as some houses, i'm short just a few litres and its frustrating!

Try these. I use them to save water as I use a 25ltr freedom trolley and I find they work really well. For fitting do a search on pole triggers on the forum. One crucial tip, when you fit it, do it with the pole fully extended.

This is a flow controller, but its easy to turn it on and off, have the hose from the vehicle or trolley running up to your belt and hook the valve on your hip on the belt, so the hose if allways right there wherever you go and easy access to turn it on and off quickly, have your poles with metal quick connectors, to plug into the valve.
some guys review says it started to leak, i havent tried mine yet , but its metal and tight with ptfe tape so it should be fine,
best used with a varistream pump controller so it senses the pressure when the valve is shut so it turns the pump off.

Guys, i'm really startin to get hacked off with rinsing off when i know you can rinse with it on. As Ian Giles said the other day, all the time you're brushing the glass, you're rinsing. Question i have really is to all the backpack users. Can I rinse on (on my regular cleans) at speed"2" and get away with it.( I haven't really tried through lack of confidence) If not speed "2", would "3" do it? God i bet this don't make an ounce of sense to anyone

huh!! 




i've been turning up the flow on my trolley (2 litres p/m??) for the last few months and stopped rinsing off the window. Especially upstairs, unless there's cobwebs or flaky paint.
I've saved lots of water by doing this.
It's taken me year and a half to have the courage to do this. Wish i'd tried it earlier.

i always clean on setting 2, but i always rinse with the brush off the glass.
your brush will always get dirty(cobwebs, etc) so rinsing with the brush on will only leave dirt from the cobwebs on there.
for peace of mind i lift when rinsing, unless i am cleaning a very high window....  3rd story+

Sorry Andy for the delay in answering. Been busy

When you let go the trigger the flow stops. Squeeze it and it starts. Water is on demand. I've found this very useful when cleaning windows with vents in as you have much more control over the flow and it's much less likely you will get water in the vent whilst moving between panes. Is also very economical with you water. I've now started my second time round and today 125ltrs lasted me from 8.30-15.45 with no break doing tops only and a few downs where it was more convenient. The quick release connector allows me to transport the pole without the hose attached to it. Much easier.

Like it says on ebay, if you are not completely satisfied after your first week of use then return it for a full refund, no questions asked.  It really is the best way to turn the water on and off at the brush.

Buy a clamp-less pole to go along with it, and you will be wondering what you are going to do with all your spare time.

It cleans brilliantly and wouldn't use anything else.

If you use Algarde flexible silicone tubing outside the pole, you won't need any kind of device. Just fold it, stand on it, pinch it, to stop the flow. Ask Jeff Brimble, he put me onto it.
6mm outside diameter, will push onto 6 mm connectors. Buy 100 meters for less than £30.
Best pole hose ever. If you want to stop the flow to take your pole round the back, just fold it and slip a ring or piece of bigger diameter hose over it. Simple, and totally reliable. Dai
