[easy clean]

FLOW CONTROL VALVE. how long is it till you have to buy a new valve? i was getting through these like you'd never believe! whether they start leaking or they would crack, they was only lasting five minutes!
is this the same for any body else?

the valves i've been using are the black and orange ones that most suppliers are selling for about 4-5 quid.

I have been buying these and they are rubbish, they do indeed only last a short period, i have just bought some of Ebay very similar and have tried these and these ones DO NOT leak and i think they will last longer than the other ones,

If your on about the plastic ones in some cases they can only last a morning,catch them on a step or york stone and they`ve had it.

am i right in thinking your use plastic valves? if you do why not use metal ones? I have metal ones on end of hose to join up the pole. I hope I am thinking of the same bit. Let me know I can take a pic if needbe

Nothing will last long if you allow it to drag on the floor and catch on brickwork and stones etc.
I use a strap hanging around my neck and use a carabina to attach the flow contoller to. Its always to hand to switch on and off between windows with the added advantage of the hose end always going wherever you go, I even walk with it on back to my van before removing and then reel in the hose thus I never damage it. Simple really

ive had mine for about 6 months. using it on backpack so i suppose it aint getting dragged around. it is starting to leak outta the tap...

Have you thought about using a trigger on your pole instead with a straight forward connector on the hose. Doesn't work for everyone I know but I find it works for me. You have to get used to an extra loop of pole hose. It can be a bit irritating at first but you soon learn to work with it. Saves a lot of water too.

I also have a Tennis ball  fitted to the end to  stop it from breaking to easily, the proper balls for the end are available from Gardiners.

I don`t use them at all,i have no need for them i work to quickly to be turning the water on and off LOL.

anyway, stopped using the crappy old black and orange ones when my dad see some in portugal which he thought were stronger and up for more abuse

these are a million times better and they last for ages and will take as much abuse as you want!!!! i really mean that i drag them all round the floor and every time i disconnect the pole i drop it on the floor and it just takes it. ok they cost 13 euros (about £9) but they are lasting so much longer, its well worth it.

if anybody wants any then let me know, i've got here with me but my parents go to portugal every couple of months so i can always get them

What part of Portugal do your parents go easy clean , Algarve or Lisbon area?

I might be interested too.  I take it these are for half inch hose?  Although I use microbore, I have a bit of half inch jubilee clipped onto the end so that I can use half inch flow controllers.
Are they made of metal or plastic?
