Which ever option, why have you chosen this, personal choice? You dont think you can monitor employees etc etc?

Thanks for any comments

I did have an employee but found it too stressful and now 6 months down the line am turning over exactly the same as the two of us were without all the expense and hassle
Having said that i may in the future employ again if i can find a decent person to work for me

now you can have a tracker fitted to your van to know where they are etc, workwise if you get complaints or cancelations you will know something could be amiss.

I choose to get workers on there own as long as the work is done and to the quality I expect then he will not have to find another job, I pay him well and expect him to work well for it, cancelations that are his own fault he pays out of his own pocket, some will say thats harsh, I call it business, I never did it so why should he  ;)
if a mistake is made I do look straight into it as some customer say one thing then I personally go and check and it will be a smear in the inside windows  ::)

The speed of work, Quality of work, Lack of customer interaction? Also in direct relation to this is the wage paying against hours worked, as this will affect how someone works unless you keep an eye on them i think?

Were they running a van or working with you?

I always have my eyes open, i go out with him when I want to check his work and also speak to the customers, if he doesnt do the work set then he loses money

At one time had eight
then down to four
now down to one and life is so much easyier
having said that
not getting the buzz
and having to think a lot more on my feet
with the different jobs that come in, and day to day running

you can't have it all

Myself and a Polish gent  :)

I run mine just like Ian does. My guy works on his own (On my work) I too pay him well.. not the usual minimum wage for Eastern Europeans and he is a great asset to me and my business. His work rate is great and his attention to detail and customer relations are 1st class. He got a tip from a customer last week  ( A fiver) and he brought it to me and tried to give it to me.  ;D

Please don't ask me why I don't employ a British worker..  look around any posts regarding employment and the answers are there.

I plan to take another on early next year as well  :)

My window-cleaning empire employes me and no other staff.

Why, because I prefer to work by myself self mostly, and dont want additional hassle that is associated with staff.
