A clean pane of glass is a clean pane of glass...whether it was cleaned trad of wfp and as a clean pane of glass will attract grime at the same rate.

Pure water isn't some kind of magical barrier against dirt.
No, but squeegeeing leaves a microscopic residue for dust to stick to.
Pure water pretty much sterilises the glass.

I've found they stay cleaner in general.
I haven't done mine for weeks, but they still look clean.

Yes that's a good point. So in a way it's good to be trad...dirtier quicker means my services are needed more often....at least that's the theory 8)
no way, I will be fully explaining to my customers if I get comments like they are clean, I will reply saying yes this is what you pay me for, why have windows dirty every few weeks when they can always be clean that is are job after all is it not  ::)
if people are canceling and giving you that reason you may want to change what you say to them, I have never had this happen ever I trad clean and windows are still clean when I get back 4 weeks later, if i ever get a comment I refer to above and they seem to understand better. they can of course change to 2 monthly but there price would increase this way I do not lose out on money

Yep, they definitely stay cleaner longer, but that also does depend on weather conditions to a degree.
Educate your customers, your regular maintenance cleans are done to KEEP them clean, the idea is that your windows are clean all the time, you don't just wait until they are covered in grime to clean them.

I'm just about to go back out to work, but I've also just had a text off Squeaky, he has just had 2 customers ask him to to call every other month instead of every month...what's the betting this is for exactly that reason?

I'm sure he's gritting his teeth in frustration, too late now, but if he could have said, "Ok' but I'll have to put up your prices to compensate as through the winter your windows are now going to be harder work to clean."
it might have given him a little satisfaction, but he isn't overrun with work at the moment, so no doubt doesn't feel able to take that line with customers just in case they completely cancel on him.

difficult to move the goalposts with old customers, but you can put this kind of thing in place with new ones.
You can also of course tell them that 4 weekly = £xxx, 8 weekly = £yyyy and 12 weekly = £zzz

I have one shop in particular that really shows the difference between trad and WFP.
When cleaned with either method they are spotless, but when done trad, because of the position of neighbouring shops, on one corner the wind always forms a vortex, the air always swirls around, and when done trad, almost every week they had a faint film of dust on them.
done WFP they absolutely never have a film of dust on them.
but I'm equally sure that if they were not done every week, by the end of a month I would see a film of dust on them regardless of whether or not I did them WFP or not.

you use detergent, as squeaks has said, you leave a microscopic film on the glass that will be slightly 'sticky' to small enough particles.
In the olden days you could see this on the inside of pub windows ;D the smoke would stick to the glass after a few days and you could see every turn of your squeegee ;)

Anyway, I've got £191 of domestics to knock out before 4pm 8)

I'm outa here!

So the consensus is that wfp keeps windows cleaner for longer.

So why are most cleaners still sticking to their same cleaning frequency ie every 4 weeks??

This is not meant as a negative comment, but rather as a way of possibly  earning more money per clean.

Providing its priced the right way, less frequent cleans must mean more moey in the long run.

Or am I missing something here?

1 if it takes less time to clean then you make more money
2 if the customers always has clean windows then you are doing your job correctly.
3 why would you want to do it less often to make the same money, this is not good business sence in anyway

In response to no3 providing you earn the same ammount of money over the same period of time surely you must be better off.
