How would you get to these windows with wfp?
« on: October 15, 2007, 08:56:46 pm »
The windows are set back by about 3' and I don't fancy using any ladders to do it?
I use the plastic adjustable angle and don't have a gooseneck. and the railings are narrow :'(

I would just turn the brush through 90 degrees on its side feed it throu the gap in the rail and then turn it horizontal again, assuming its a floor brush type. The gap looks wide enough. Allow a bit more time and price. Theres a knack to it, you can do it if you really want to.
On some narrower ones I just do the bits I can ott and ask then to do the bottom 2ft.

ps Jeff I am locked out of Academy, did you get email 2 days ago ?

I manage some like that from the ground.  I don't think the gap on there is any narrower than the one my brush gets through.  I use an 18 ft Extender pole with a 10" oval Vikan brush.  I do the top part of the windows going above the railings as far down as I can.  Then I turn the pole sideways so the brush fits through the railings and do the lower parts.  Obviously, as you say, I have no gooseneck or it wouldn't fit through.  I just have an angle adaptor which is not angled for a job such as that.  It doesn't APPEAR any narrower than the one I do but appearances may be deceptive on a photo.  Looking at the pic, I reckon my setup would get through there but it is tight.

Its nicely priced Jeff, I was going to use my light weight pole on it, so I'll give it a go the way you say. ;)

I'll see why your locked out and email you, No to the emails, I think you may have my old email address, so I'll email you my new one.

Jeff:

if you can stand far enough back with your pole then put your brush at the top edge of the window panes.

Turn your flow of water up to 'excessive' amounts and slowly move your brush (keeping it at the top of the panes of glass), simply moving your brush from left to right at the top of each pane without coming down the panes of glass and let the flow of water do the job of cleaning the glass for you.

No need to use a ladder unless glass is covered in bird art.

With a fishing pole you could easily do them from the ground you`ll just need to stand right back from the railings, you might need 4-5 sections of a superlite 1 or 2.
