Bus Shelters
« on: October 15, 2007, 07:51:41 pm »
Does anyone here clean them
The ones around this way are filthy and it could be an opportunity to add extra money when i am not so busy or when its raining
Who owns them is it the bus companies or the council?
And what sort of price would you charge for them?

I had a brainwave once - I thought about the millions of roadsigns that perhaps need cleaning or need the foiliage cutting back from them. That's as far as it went though just a thought. :-\

A friend of mine cleans them, he got the work through the local parish council, so the shelters he cleans are only in this small district. All the bus shelters in my town are own by a company called ADSHEL, don't know if this is the case nationwide tho.

Hope this helps

all the old dears stand use the stop, 1 day one of the old dears said it was really dirty and she brushed up against it and got dirt on her cream coat

of course i dont get paid for it and many will think im a mug for doing it, but it only takes me 10 mins and a few of the old dears know i do it and allways thank me

That has to be good for your image locally dude, i have found doing little favours very often pays off in the long run, sometimes you don't realise till ages after you got that new job from that little favour for someone. ;)

I drove past a guy cleaning a shelter in warrington and his van had ADSHELL on the side so they must be national.

i knew one of the workers and he told me it was him and his bro that did them but havent seen anyone doing them for a long time
I think i will investigate further Oh and thanks for the replies

Jcdecaux cleans all the bus shelters in Plymouth. All the ones in the city centre have to be cleaned every day by 8 am. They too use a similar setup wfp to clean all the shelters.

I noticed the same firm doing some in my town centre although there was a MITIE van doing them on my top road basically the main road into town. So there must be a few companies doing them.

Adshel and JCdecaux own the bus shelters and take care of there own maintainence and cleaning.

Adshel are also know as clear channel,
More group uk, transsomethingorother,

If you want to clean bus shelters you need to go to the council some councils have some.
