Hi nat sry to be a pain, does illustrator files show history of how you made image? if they do any chance you could email me a copy of the image so I can work out how you come to where you are on it, I can then have a play?

its easy to create what i done, just type some text, draw a circle from the tool panel, go to window>graphic styles. then once you have the window up click on the small right tab, it will then have a sub menu with various effects to load, click on vrious ones and have a play, you will see all the different effects there fairly good. It can get very complicated when you get further in but what i created is very easy.

make sure once you have the right type face you select it and go to type>create outlines, this will then have it created as an image rather than type and will be fully editable

I take it you have a CS or above version?
