Hi Steve,
A method statement just shows the customer how you are going to clean their windows  whether by ladder or pole for example but it is usually accompanied by a risk assessment. :D

Hope this makes sense ???

Method Statements are used to inform the client of the systematic way in which you will work while on site.
Example- Before commencing work we will sign in all operatives. we will inform relevant site manager before commencing work. All operatives will be given designated areas to work. in case of a fire we know your drill procedure. Any aspiring professional window cleaner needs Method Statement, Risk Assesment and Health and Safety Policy

To add to the previous note about Method Statement Any one out there who employs a window cleaner, my advice is make sure you give your new employee. Health & Safety Policy, Method Statements Risk Assesment Equal Ops Policy( If applicable) and a make sure they sign to say they have read and fully understand the contents of the documents. So when they eventually try to claim industrial injury you have got some come back up. Usual excuse for self injury is they claim lack of training. Finally make sure they have a contract of employment. ( If they have not got one you are breaking employment legislation
